Tax Finance Analyst - Retail & Apparel Fashion - Paying £35,000 - £40,000 (Hybrid Role) - London Offices We are recruiting for a high end Retail & Fashion Company for a Tax Finance Analyst to join their finance team.
The purpose of this role is to support the organisation's tax compliance and reporting activities. The Tax Finance Analyst will process and monitor all areas of indirect tax, corporation tax, and customs duty compliance across the group, under the guidance of the Tax Manager.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop weekly analysis of international duty and tariff spend to feed into commercial reporting.
- Generate and monitor duty drawback claims for multiple global markets, while identifying additional reclaim opportunities.
- Complete month-end reporting and analysis of global duty costs across all business channels, including preparation of month-end journals.
- Maintain regular communication with sourcing and procurement teams to ensure ongoing compliance of HS codes, preference certification, and product costing.
- Develop new reporting tools to support continued analysis of customs data and ensure ongoing duty compliance in relevant regions.
- Conduct regular internal audits of customs warehouse processes.
- Produce quarterly forecasts of global duty costs.
- Assist with finance department month-end processes and reconciliations as needed.
- Provide support and cover across all other tax areas and territories.
Key Requirements: - Must be part Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong fundamental financial accounting skills across areas such as UK GAAP, Tax and VAT.
- Proven eye for detail with the ability to investigate the root cause of any issues
- Ability to accurately manipulate large data sets
- Strong technical experience, gained within a financial accounting team, audit firm and/or tax department
- Experience in building strong relationships both with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Excel and an aptitude to interrogate the in-house ERP systems.
- Demonstrate an aptitude to learn and quickly develop a deep understanding of new technical areas
- Strong communication skills with an ability to build rapport with key stakeholders both within and outside the finance department
- You will have a keen eye for detail and desire to produce highly accurate work
- An ability to analyse and review your own work, identifying areas that need investigation
