Assistant Management Accountant - £35,000 - £40,000 – Reading, Berkshire (Hybrid Working)

Trace Recruit is delighted to be supporting the CFO of a specialist service provider, who is on the hunt for an Assistant Accountant.

This exciting opportunity will work closely with the finance team and will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the month-end close process.

About Your New Role:
  • Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage the end-to-end AP process, including invoice approvals and payment runs.
  • Management of Accounts Receivables and cash allocations
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing and posting journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts.
  • Support the finance team with variance analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other financial compliance tasks.
  • Ad-hoc projects/support where needed.
  
Your Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience in double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits and supporting with month end.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic.
  • A friendly and proactive demeanour, good team player.
  • Advanced Excel user.
  • Ideally have used Sage and Xero.

This is a superb opportunity for a finance professional with AP & Month End experience to support an exciting and growing business and to expand their knowledge.
This role is perfect for someone immediately available or can start at short notice.
