Senior Management Accountant, Marcomms, Central London, Paying between £45,000 - £48,000 We are recruiting a fantastic new role within a large Media network for a Management Accountant.
You will be working with a group of finance professionals within a dynamic team that are seeking to increase the efficiency of the accounting services whilst working at all times to improve the control environment.
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will ensure complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting is delivered accurately and on time for one or more agencies within the network. This includes both international group reporting and UK statutory reporting, including tax.
You should be a self-starter and have the ability to deal with people at all levels. You should have a sense of humour and enjoy working, proactively, as part of the finance team.
Key Responsibilities: - Set month-end timetables ensuring group reporting deadlines are met
- Produce monthly P&L with variance commentary
- Prepare and process month-end journals and reclassifications
- Submit monthly management accounts via Hyperion (or equivalent system)
- Analyze accounts and reconcile with the general ledger
- Review deliverables from the outsourced finance team
- Coordinate inputs from commercial teams for month-end reporting
- Provide departmental P&L breakdowns to key stakeholders
- Identify cost control opportunities and communicate with department heads
- Perform balance sheet variance analysis vs. budget and prior periods
- Complete templates and information requests within and outside the reporting system
- Conduct cash flow modelling and assist with quarterly tax packs
- Coordinate monthly working capital reporting and management sign-off processes
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and prepare monthly salary journals
- Prepare UK GAAP year-end financial statements
- Reconcile to US GAAP (or other applicable standards)
- Prepare statutory tax package and coordinate with external auditors
- Support annual budgets and monthly reforecasts with agency finance teams
- Build scenario models and prepare forward-looking financial projections
- Monitor capex spend and calculate profit/loss on asset disposals
Key Requirements - Part-Qualified/Finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Proficient in Excel; experience with Hyperion and Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
