Fund Accountant/Controller (Private Credit) – 13-Month FTC | £70–80k + bonus Looking for more than BAU? This is a hands-on role with big exposure and real ownership. A well-known real estate investment manager with over £50bn AUM is looking for a Fund Accountant/Controller to take the lead on a private debt fund – You'll be working in a tight, high-performing team of 6 that covers everything from fund structuring and reporting to loan servicing and fund ops for their 8 debt funds.
What’s the role? You’ll step in as the go-to person for two private credit funds:
- End-to-end oversight of the accounting, cash management, audits and investor reporting.
- Day-to-day control over loan admin – from interest payments and waterfalls to borrower requests.
- Be the bridge between investment teams, external service providers, and internal finance.
- Input into new deals, fund structuring, and help shape how things are run operationally.
You’ll have third-party support on the admin side, but the team here likes to stay close to the numbers – and close to the assets.
What they’re looking for: - Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with post-qual experience in funds, ideally with private credit or real estate debt.
- Someone who understands how loan docs translate into actual cash flows and ops.
- Good Excel skills, bonus points for Yardi or similar systems.
- Sharp eye for detail, comfortable taking initiative, and happy working across teams (and time zones).
Why this role? - Ownership from day one
- Proper exposure to the deal and investment side
- Be part of a lean, experienced team that’s genuinely collaborative
- It’s a fixed-term contract, but with a brand name that opens doors down the line
You’ve done the fund admin grind. Now it’s time to work on a fund that’s actually interesting. Curious? Get in touch with Harry Childs at Trace Recruitment – no need for a polished CV.
