Financial Controller, Hospitality, Oxfordshire, £70,000
 
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a growing hospitality group. Based in Oxfordshire, you’ll work closely with the CFO of one company and the Owner of the other. Leading a team of two, you’ll be responsible for;
 
  • Managing all payments and bills across 6 properties and recording them accurately across the relevant P&L
  • Reconciling bank and compiling weekly cash forecasts
  • Liaising with external insurance broker as well as group legal and EA, so to ensure relevant insurances are always in place
  • Compiling and sending monthly spend report to CFO within 10 business days of month end
  • Maintaining all records for tax and year end reporting purposes.
  • Managing relationship with banking partners and tax advisors.
  • Daily ongoing reporting of performance, broken down into component parts
  • Preparing monthly board pack within 10 business days of month end
  • Preparing annual Financial Statements and liaising with the auditors’ overall numbers and tax
  • Review and approve any spend that is not pre-approved as part of BAU, liaising with the Group CFO where necessary.
  • Maintaining and providing all relevant information for the Group corporate tax returns.
  • Preparing, reviewing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Alongside the relevant GM, performing all budgeting and forecasting.
  • Maintaining and reviewing of payroll and all direct debits.
  • Liaising with Group so to ensure relevant insurances are always in place.
  • Ensuring services are maintained and always on the most competitive tariff; and working closely with the relevant GM, ensuring stock and spend control.
  • Liaising with external insurance brokers to ensure appropriate coverage across all locations and activities.
The candidate must be;
  • A qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with minimum of 5 years PQE.
  • Have had FC level experience in the hospitality sector.
  • Able to exercise absolute confidentiality; and
  • Significant experience using and maintaining accounting systems.
