Job description

Finance Manager, Economic Development Charity, Remote/Hybrid, £50,000
An impactful economic development charity is seeking a Finance Manager to lead its finance function during an exciting period of growth. This is a brilliant opportunity to play a central role in a small, agile team working to support inclusive economic change across the UK.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate monthly and year-end reporting, and play a key role in planning, budgeting and financial strategy. You’ll also support organisational decision-making by providing financial insights and identifying areas to improve profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full finance function including monthly accounts, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reports to the senior leadership team and external stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain financial systems, internal processes and controls.
  • Support strategic financial planning and identify opportunities to increase profitability or reduce costs.
  • Handle bookkeeping, credit control, VAT returns, payroll oversight, and year-end audit preparation.
Qualifications:
  • ACCA, CIMA qualified or QBE (Part-qualified candidates with strong experience will be considered).
  • Significant experience in finance or accounting – ideally in a standalone or management role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting systems.
  • Confident communicator with excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail, with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a key finance role within a growing, purpose-driven organisation. You’ll work closely with leadership, contribute to impactful work, and help shape the financial future of a mission-led business. CVs will be reviewed on a rolling basis – early applications encouraged!
