We're Hiring: Head of Finance and Operations - Arts EmergencyLocation: Remote or Manchester-based, coworking offices available nationwide
Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week) – flexible options available
Salary: c£42,000 p.a. + 3% pension contribution

Arts Emergency is a mentoring charity and support network helping young people from underrepresented backgrounds break into the creative and cultural industries. We're growing fast, and we're looking for a strategic, inclusive leader to join our Leadership Group and help shape our future.
About the RoleAs Head of Finance & Operations, you'll lead on financial strategy, operational systems, and organisational planning. You'll manage a Finance Officer, and work with outsourced accountants, to oversee budgets, ensure compliance, and help us scale our impact nationally. You'll also act as Company Secretary and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer (training provided).
What You’ll Do - Lead finance and operations strategy
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and reporting
- Oversee HR, IT systems, and compliance
- Support safeguarding and organisational development
- Collaborate with the Leadership Group on long-term planning
- Represent Arts Emergency externally and uphold our values
About You You’re a compassionate and proactive leader with:
- Experience in senior finance/operations roles
- Qualified, or studying towards a professional qualification would be preferred (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking
- Passion for equity, inclusion, and youth empowerment
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
- Knowledge of charity governance and risk management
