Finance Assistant - Global PR Group - Paying £28,000 + Study Support - London Offices We are working with an exciting, dynamic PR and communications agency, working with some of the most innovative brands in the industry.
The finance team consists of around 15 members who manage the finances of a diverse group of companies. The team combines experience and collaboration to support a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
The Role We are seeking a skilled
Accounts Assistant to support both the
Purchase Ledger and
Sales Ledger functions. The main responsibilities include processing invoices and staff expenses, maintaining both sales and purchase ledgers, managing weekly payment runs, and providing general support across the finance function.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting monthly deadlines. They should also be personable and comfortable collaborating with non-financial colleagues.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage the processing and payment of supplier purchase invoices
- Ensure accuracy when coding invoices to the correct job codes and nominal accounts
- Handle queries from internal teams and suppliers, maintaining strong relationships
- Set up new suppliers in accordance with internal processes
- Maintain and reconcile supplier ledgers and statements
- Assist in improving supplier management processes
- Manage company credit card transactions and reconciliations
- Process employee expense claims
- Record incoming remittances and assist with reporting
- Perform credit control and debtor reporting activities
- Reconcile bank accounts, wage deductions, and intercompany balances
- Support internal and external audits
- Respond to finance-related queries from staff and maintain effective internal communication
- Assist with intercompany transactions, fixed asset registers, trade debtors and creditors, and recharge postings
- Participate in internal system training (e.g., finance software)
- Provide ad hoc reporting and general support to the wider finance team
Key Requirements: - Degree in Maths, Finance, Accounting, or Economics (preferred)
- Currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Prior experience in finance or accounting roles preferred
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
