performing arts is seeking a
qualified Financial Controller following a period of team restructuring. This is a senior, hands-on role offering real influence across strategy, leadership, and decision-making.
Working closely with the
COO and Senior Leadership Team, you’ll take ownership of financial reporting, controls, and audit, while helping shape long-term strategic plans. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering with non-finance stakeholders and driving improvement.
The role will involve: - Owning monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, providing insight and challenge
- Leading and developing the finance function (AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger)
- Supporting strategic planning with clear financial analysis and recommendations
- Identifying financial risks and opportunities to improve operational performance
- Playing a key role in major decisions around funding, commercial initiatives, and capital projects
- Leading month-end, year-end, and audit processes
- Preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Ensuring full compliance with UK accounting, tax, and reporting requirements
- Improving financial processes, controls, and systems across the organisation
About you: - Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Proven experience leading or owning a finance function
- Confident people manager with a track record of developing teams
- Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax
- Able to translate complex financial data for non-finance audiences
- Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in education, charity, or the arts would be an advantage
