Media Advertising Agency is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Financial Assistant to join their growing finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with
experience in accounts payable and receivable, particularly within the
media or marketing industry, who is looking to broaden their skillset and grow within a vibrant and creative environment.
Reporting directly to the
Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing invoicing processes, resolving queries, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with financial reporting.
We are seeking only immediately available candidates.
Key Responsibilities: - Accurately log purchase invoices into the accounting system
- Regularly reconcile supplier ledgers to reflect accurate creditor positions
- Check and set up new suppliers following internal approval processes
- Ensure timely outward payments in line with supplier payment terms
- Chase outstanding debts and ensure client payments are received promptly
- Post daily receipts to the sales ledger using company accounting software
- Raise sales invoices in accordance with client agreements and internal revenue recognition policies
- Provide regular updates to the Finance Manager on debtors, accrued revenue, and WIP balances
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Support the preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts
- Maintain fixed asset registers
- Perform intercompany reconciliations
- Assist with working capital reporting for board presentations
- Work towards supporting the preparation of management accounts
Requirements: - Prior experience in a media or marketing agency environment is essential
- At least 2+ year of financial experience, with exposure to both AP and AR
- Solid knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and general accounting principles
- Comfortable working with trial balances, P&Ls, and balance sheets
- Ideally progressing through ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications (2-3 exams passed preferred)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise directly with clients and stakeholders
- A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach to work
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and a focus on accuracy
- Ambitious and eager to develop a well-rounded finance skillset
